UPDATE UR LIFE GOSH DARNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
  Posted 1/17/2004 at 8:39 PM by AhCHOo85 - delete - block user

Well, I can't argue with that. If the all-powerful ANAMACHO (*grovels* i'm not worthy...) is demanding that I update my life, I must obey. I'll cover the last week and a half....how does that sound?

Friday, Jan. 23rd - Liz and I hung out after school....quite an interesting day. First we went to Starbucks and hung out there for a little while. Jeff and Polish Guy (I can pronounce his name, but I can't spell it) were there...fun fun fun. Then we went to the movies intending to see "Along Came Polly." Liz followed me there the whole way in her "car" (note - "car" may be used interchangeably with any of the following: rust bucket, basket of death, bathtub on wheels). That was amusing. She was dancing in the driver's seat...I was waiting for her to hit her head on the stapled roof...never happened. Anyway, we got the the movies and found that we had already missed "Along Came Polly" because they change the times on Fridays. So we saw "Cheaper By the Dozen" instead and get this....THE WHOLE THEATER WAS EMPTY! That was the greatest part....being loud and obnoxious through the whole movie with no one there to complain. Anyway, Liz walked into the men's room by mistake and saw an old guy using the urinal. Lovely. After the movie we went to the bagel place and then back to Starbucks, where we hung out with Phil for a couple of hours. Polish Guy came by, but didn't stay. A creepy man stared at us through the screen for ten minutes.....*shudder*. Fun fun fun. Why does Liz like coffee? Because it starts a party in her mouth!

Saturday, Jan. 24th - Worked all morning, came home, practiced, went to Rockville, MD because friend from Juilliard was playing a concert and I promised I'd go. He played Beethoven's Piano Concerto No.5 ("Emperor")....the orchestra sucked, but he was brilliant as always, and it was nice to see him again, considering it's been a while. Got back home at 11:30. Overall, not a bad day, just exhausting.

Sunday, Jan. 25th - NY for lesson. I actually bothered to practice my new section of the Rachmaninoff this time, so the lesson went better than usual. I can't wait until my auditions are over. I'm soooo sick of the repertoire....Bach (Prelude and Fugue 15 from WTC I), Beethoven (Sonata No.5), Brahms (Rhapsody in b minor, Op.79 No.1), and Debussy (Prelude from Suite Bergamasque)....ARGH. Lovely pieces, really, but I'd like to move on to something else. And I'd like to finish Suite Bergamasque. Oh well....four more weeks and auditions will be over. Then I can move on to the Minuet.

Monday - Wednesday, Jan. 26th - 28th - NO SCHOOL! Apparently, these were also the first of a week of tax-free shopping days in New York, which my teacher failed to tell me about until yesterday. We had no school and snow through Wednesday....I could've spent a long weekend shopping in New York....grrr.....Instead, I spent these days practicing like mad. It's not like there was anything else I could do....I didn't have any homework and I was under house arrest (parents wouldn't let me drive until the weather improved). Oh, and Wednesday was Pat's 17th birthday.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SQUISHY!!

Thursday, Jan. 29th - The most pointless school day ever. Seriously, I get nothing accomplished on 2-hour-delay days. None of my teachers feel like doing anything. Whatever.

Friday, Jan. 30th - Boring. Not even worth mentioning.

Saturday, Jan. 31st - Work from 8:45am - 4:00pm, went home, practiced, went shopping, came home, and slept.

Sunday, Feb. 1st - NY again. Lesson. Actually, I'm quite pleased with myself, because it was a great lesson. My audition pieces are significantly improving each week. They're all in that stage of being ready, minus a few details that need to be perfected. Still, it's annoying and it makes me more nervous than ever that I won't be ready in time....I don't know why....

Monday, Feb.2nd (TODAY!) - School was boring, with the exception of physics.....mwahaha. The rabbit pelt....and I've got Steve on the chocolate muffins and chocolate milk at break! Go me! Orchestra was nice because I didn't have to play Bloch. I had a Lit extra-credit quiz to take for the first ten minutes, and I spent the rest of the time practicing my audition repertoire. Oh, how I hate Bloch.

There. Now you're all caught up with my life. If you want to know anything more, you're a stalker. Stay the hell away from me.

i guess i'll combine yesterday and sunday to let you know that i spent them....interestingly. sunday was a ton of fun (perhaps the most fun i've had in NY in a while), but yesterday was a giant ball of shit.

so sunday morning, i hop the early EARLY train to NYC, which left @ 6:20 in the flippin' morning. contrary to the original plans, i met nicole @ the station rather than at her house....a good thing too, because i would've been damn close to missing the train, had i gone with her . so she and her mom manage to get to the train on time (by some miracle). we get to NY and goal #1 is to visit pat and his recollapsed lung (spontaneous numothorax.....big words, big words...) at New York Hospital. so i that gives me a two hour time frame in which i have to go from Penn Station (west side, herald square, 34th and 7th) to New York Hospital (east side, 68th and york), then back to Juilliard (66th and broadway)....HELLISH. so a hop, skip, three subway transfers, and a 4 block walk later, we're at the hospital. after walking two blocks to the wrong entrance, we walk two blocks back to the correct entrance. then nicole and i make about 6 wrong turns through the pediatric ward before we find pat's room, which was empty when we walked in. i was going to call him on his cell, but i figured he might be in the bathroom and i didn't want to disturb him in mid-pee. it turns out he was just doing laps around the ward, chest tube in hand, with his entourage *cough* i mean family. so i met pat's dad, mom, and uncle jeff. one lap later, he joined us back in his room, where we exchanged gifts. then HOLY SHIT IT'S 11:40 AND I HAVE TO BE AT JUILLIARD IN 20 MINUTES! FUCK! so i politely make my exit, RUN the four blocks back to lexington, blah blah blah, to make a long story short, i was 20 minutes late for my lesson (which didn't really matter, because it ran over-time, as usual). lesson was the same as always....went over what i didn't practice and could BS my way through...got a shitload of new stuff to "practice" for this week....life is good.

pat's better and out of the hospital....YAAAAAAAAAAAY!

yesterday was a mountain of shit. we're talking the Mt. Everest of shitty days. so nicole and i go to the mall and i'm driving because she doesn't know the way to tiffany's. on the way, i hit a curb, but there appears to be no damage to my car, so no big deal. a hundred years later, we get out of tiffany's (after being on a waiting list, browsing for future wedding rings, etc.) and still no damage to the car. so we go park outside of bloomingdales, shop, and come back 2 hours later to find that my car has a flat, because the tire ripped (because of the wheel, which was scraped when i hit the curb). so move to another parking lot, call AAA, which offers to fix my car within 2 hours. we call mercedes, which ends up being there in an hour. wahoo. while tony (mercedes helper man) is fixing my car, nicole and i laugh about how badly we would've fucked it up if we had tried to change the tire ourselves. i drop her back @ her car, which was parked at mclean starbucks. then i go in, bitch to the guy behind the counter (whose name i forget)....he pities me and gives me a free drink. niiiice. i leave the polish flag in slawomir's stocking, because i hardly ever see him, and leave. i go home to find that i've completely forgotten about my eye appointment, which is a good thing, because i hate my eye doctor.

yes. so there ends my shitty day.

today was MOOT. did internship. wahoo. the end.

wow i haven't updated in a little while...but....IT'S CHRISTMAS BREAK IT'S CHRISTMAS BREAK IT'S CHRISTMAS BREAK! not that i have anything exciting planned....i'm spending random days in new york for lessons, but even i don't know which days those are....not xmas and new years because apparently those are the only days juilliard is closed over the break. i'm spending every spare minute here either doing my internship or working on college shit (you'll probably find me @ mclean starbucks, where i'll be supposedly working on essays *cough*....but i'll really just be hanging out with slawomir, formerly known as "polish guy").

today was fun, but MOOT (bold and caps to make sure nicole notices my use of her favorite word). lit was even more pointless than usual because the troll wasn't there. physics was....physics. space movie, simpsons, and the destruction of bad mozart CDs. i like ashkenazy much better now as a conductor...mwahaha. chem was boring, as always. i spent the first five minutes of orch. with the troll taking an extra-credit quiz on Crime and Punishment....then i went back to orchestra, fought with janice over a stuffed dog, had  my picture taken (wearing a bow tie and standing next to a string bass.....midget pictures....), got a piggy-back ride from jeff.....the usual.

the ride home was interesting, to say the least. out of the goodness of my little blackened void (located where my heart should be), i gave ali a ride home. we went to starbucks and i decided to wire myself up with a frappuccino (as if i didn't already have enough sugar in my system...). so we're going down georgetown pike with the windows open while it's snowing, blasting "Best of Queen" the whole way. i think ali's dance to "another one bites the dust" scared a couple people, except for maybe liz...

enough about my life. off to practice for shitty lesson on shitty sunday. boo.

find your elf name!
